You may receive a letter later this week with information regarding lead pipes on your property.
We’ve mailed letters to households believed to have lead service lines, based on our current inventory. The City of West Allis is committed to revitalizing health in the community by encouraging impacted properties to remove lead water service lines.
The City of West Allis provides clean, safe and reliable drinking water to all residents. Lead is not present in West Allis's treated drinking water. Some homes and buildings, however, have water service lines, solder and fixtures made of lead, and lead can enter the drinking water through the corrosion of plumbing materials.
Visit www.westalliswi.gov/lead to see if your property is impacted. The City of West Allis is working with a national engineering firm to create a policy and plan for replacing these lead service lines. Contact us at lead@westalliswi.gov for more information.
